Raising awareness on UN for members of Arak Chamber of Commerce

08 September 2020

The UN Information Centre (UNIC) in Tehran and the international department of Arak Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (Arak CCIM), held an online training session on “Finding UN Information and Documentation” for some 10 members of the Chamber on 2 September 2020.

UNIC Communications Consultant, Mr Amir Mohammad Kamaloo addressed the members of the Arak Chamber on how to retrieve UN documentation and information from the UN-related websites on international trade and development.

The participants got familiar with ITC, UN COMTRADE, and UNCTAD websites. They learned about UN statistics and how can it be accessed. There was an overview of market analysis tools, which is accessible through the ITC website. Participants also navigated through the UNCTAD website. They learnt where to find specific trade data through UN COMTRADE.

The COVID-19 pandemic is a stark reminder that the UN at its 75th anniversary is as relevant as ever to continue leading the multilateral efforts to coordinate the global response to the greatest  crisis we are facing since the Second World War and to leave no one behind.  UNIC Communications Consultant, Mr Kamaloo asked the participants to fill out the UN 75 one-minute survey, to ensure that voices from Iran are heard by the world leaders.

Mr Beigzadeh and Mr Khazee from the international department of the Arak Chamber, who did all the coordination, found the session useful for themselves and for the participants.

Training sessions “Finding UN Information and Documentation” are regularly organized by the UNIC for all interested groups. For more information about how to attend these sessions and learn how to navigate the UN web site, please contact (e-mail: – Tel. No.: 0098 21- 22873837)
