TEHRAN, 18 July 2021 (UNIC) – Below is the full text of statement of Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO) Regional Director, Mr. Bjorn Andersson on the occasion of the delivery of 1,000 O2 concentrators to the State Welfare Organization in Iran:

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomes a supplementary contribution of €1 million (approximately US$1.2million) from the Federal Republic of Germany towards its assistance programme in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

• United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in his message on the World Day against Trafficking in Persons, 30 July 2020, said women and girls already account for more than 70 per cent of detected human trafficking victims, and today are among the hardest hit by the pandemic. 

• TEHRAN, 23 October 2021 (UNIC) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in his message on the United Nations Day, 24 October 2021, said the values that have powered the UN Charter for the last 76 years — peace, development, human rights, and opportunity for all — have no expiry date.
  

  

• In order to promote the Decade of Action for SDGs and commemorate World Population Day, UNIC in partnership with Ambassadors of Peace and Friendship Group, held a virtual seminar with participation of intellectuals and artists on Tuesday 21 July 2020.

• TEHRAN, 2 November 2020 (UNIC) – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in his message on the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes against Journalists, 2 November 2020,  reiterated his call for a free press that can play its essential role in peace, justice, sustainable development and human rights.
